The Lakeside City Council unanimously adopted its 2026-27 municipal budget and a property tax rate of $0.75 per $100 valuation Sept. 10. The tax rate is up from $0.61 last year, a 22.95% increase.

The no-new revenue rate was $0.639009 per $100 valuation, while the voter-approval tax rate was $0.754694 per $100 valuation, higher than the adopted tax rate. The adopted rate is above the no-new-revenue rate but below the voter-approval rate.

Under the new rate, taxes on the average homestead are expected to increase by $331.66 annually or 17.10%, from $1,939.06 to $2,270.72.
