Pelican Bay to enforce pet registration, rabies vaccination ordinances Oct. 1

Pet vaccinations and registrations are nothing new for Pelican Bay residents — but their enforcement is about to be.

Starting Thursday, Oct. 1, the city of Pelican Bay will begin enforcing its ordinances requiring residents to have their pets registered with the city and vaccinated.

“Pet registration and proof of rabies vaccination have been requirements in the city of Pelican Bay since 1982,” Mayor Tamra Olague told The Azle News. “These requirements are not new; they have been part of our city ordinances for more than four decades.”
