City to take over Senior Activity Center management Oct. 1

The Azle Senior Activity Center is about to undergo a change in management.

Starting Oct. 1, the center — which has previously been managed by Meals on Wheels Inc. of Tarrant County — will come under city management, with special events coordinator Amanda Scott overseeing daily operations.

Under the city’s current agreement with Meals on Wheels, the organization manages the center and provides a center director, Jackie “JJ” Joy. The city currently pays $33,894.89 annually under the agreement; the management fee was set to increase by 3% to approximately $34,911.74 Oct. 1.
