Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders exploded for 48 first-quarter points and defeated Ovilla Christian 60-0 Friday, Sept. 18, in a homecoming game shortened at halftime by the six-man football 45-point mercy rule.
The homecoming crowd saw Nemo Crowell score the first Crusaders touchdown on a 25-yard run early in the first quarter. Colton Cook added the extra point.
The ACS defense controlled the Eagles from the start, recovering a first-quarter fumble and adding a safety.
