Kathleen Rice may be Pelican Bay’s new city secretary, but she’s not new to municipal government — or even Pelican Bay.

After serving as interim city secretary since earlier this summer, Rice was officially sworn in to her new position following an executive session during the Sept. 18 meeting of the Pelican Bay City Council.

Rice stepped into the interim role in May following the departure of former city secretary Cynthia Daniels.
