More than 2,000 Azle residents will soon see a 14% rate increase on their natural gas bills following the city’s approval of a negotiated $260.5 million rate settlement with Atmos Energy Corporation.
According to city documents, Atmos Energy submitted a filing to the Atmos Cities Steering Committee April 1, requesting an increase in annual revenue of approximately $291.1 million based on the company’s cost of providing service in 2025.
Consultants for the ACSC — which is made up of 182 Mid-Texas cities served by Atmos Energy — later reviewed the filing and concluded that Atmos needed $253.4 million in additional annual revenue instead of the requested $291.1 million.
