Azle honored first responders and veterans before taking the court against Eagle Mountain at home Friday, Sept. 25. The Lady Hornets fell to the Knights in straight sets, 25-14, 25-13, 25-18.
Eagle Mountain is the defending Class 4A Division II state champion and moved into Class 5A this season.
The loss ended Azle’s four-match home winning streak and dropped the Lady Hornets to 17-19 overall and 4-1 in district play. It was Azle’s first district loss of the season. In earlier district action the Lady Hornets knocked off Fossil Ridge Tuesday, Sept.22. The Lady Hornets won in a five-set thriller on the road.
