At just 16 years old, Jerald Patrick “JP” Ducay got his start in public service as a seasonal employee in a municipal public works department near his hometown in suburban Chicago. While a summer job fixing sidewalks and working on buildings didn’t seem like such a big deal at the time, it sparked a lasting interest in local government and helped shape Ducay’s future career.
