Hoover Elementary School is proving that just because a campus is performing well academically doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement.

Despite earning two academic distinctions and an 81, or a B, on its A-F accountability rating, Principal Logan Enis explained that Hoover was still identified for Targeted Support and Improvement by the Texas Education Agency.

“Our immersion bilingual students did meet the 2038 target, and so that's exceptional for those kiddos,” Enis told the Azle Independent School District board of trustees Sept. 21. “We also obtained two distinctions as well in reading/language arts achievement, and then we got a top 25% growth for schools that are similar to us — yet I'm still here tonight presenting my Local Improvement Plan, so something ain't mathing.”
