Tri-County Electric Cooperative touted encouraging financial news to members during its 87th annual meeting Sept. 22.
According to President and CEO Scott Spence, the cooperative has strengthened its financial position by reducing debt and eliminating its line-of-credit balance — all while members’ equity in the cooperative has continued to grow by more than $140 million, or 32%.
“Some results speak for themselves. Others say more about the decisions and the people behind them,” Spence said. “Significant work remains ahead — and I’ll be the first to say so — but as I think about the state of your cooperative today, one word comes to mind: stewardship.”
