Teachers at Santo J. Forte Junior High may want to dust off their knowledge of the Pythagorean theorem — and get reacquainted with good old-fashioned pen and paper — as the campus takes on a whole new approach to math and technology.

Dr. Stephanie “Stevi” Norris, principal of Forte, said the campus is once again operating under a Local Improvement Plan after it was identified for targeted support based on the performance of certain student groups.

“Although I'm happy to be here tonight, I hope it's my last year to do this,” Norris told the Azle Independent School District board of trustees Sept. 21.
