Unspoken truths:

Why we must break the silence on domestic violence
Unspoken truths:

October is the month of Domestic Violence Awareness. There is a dire need to raise awareness about domestic violence. People get uncomfortable when domestic violence is brought up — and they should. Domestic violence is a vicious cycle and can also be a generational cycle.

Awareness, education, and prayer are tools that society as a whole, if embraced, could use to make a change.

Why? Why isn't domestic violence talked about? It makes people uncomfortable. I posted on FaceBook last October about domestic violence and I had one response. When I post about a funny animal, I have over 40 comments. I have never heard a sermon that was totally devoted to this topic. If it is even mentioned, it is just one or two sentences. I have asked people of different faiths, and they all have said the same thing: “No, I have not heard one, either.” I tell them I wonder why and have been told by multiple people and religions “It makes people uncomfortable.”
