Mayor Randa Goode, center, reads a proclamation declaring October Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Month. Code enforcement officer Robert Trevino, left, and senior code enforcement officer Michelle Garcia, right, accepted the proclamation during a regular Azle City Council meeting Oct. 20. According to the proclamation, code enforcement officers play a vital role in protecting the health, safety and general welfare of residents and business owners. Garcia and Trevino were recognized for their integrity, professionalism and respect for members of the community despite routinely facing challenging situations in the field. While the “tireless daily work” of the two officers often goes unnoticed, Goode said their efforts form an indispensable foundation for keeping Azle clean, vibrant and a welcoming place to live, work and raise families.
