Ministry at Nine Mile launches shoe drive to help fund mobile soup kitchen, case management program
These shoes were made for giving
Azle nonprofit Ministry at Nine Mile encourages residents to clean out their closets and donate new or gently used shoes during its inaugural shoe drive Nov. 1 through Dec. 31. Funds raised through the drive will support a mobile soup kitchen and the organization’s case management programs. Donated shoes will also help support small businesses in developing countries through Funds2Orgs.

Those shoes you always say you’ll wear again but never do can now serve a greater purpose than just collecting dust in the back of your closet.

Ministry at Nine Mile — a local faith-based nonprofit organization and community hub serving the Azle area — will host its first shoe drive from Sunday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Dec. 31 to raise funds for a mobile soup kitchen and case management.

Michelle Mangum, founder and president of the nonprofit, told The Azle News the only requirement for donated shoes is that they must be usable.
