The city of Reno will celebrate its 60th anniversary, and the city will mark the milestone with a community celebration Saturday, Nov. 7 from noon to 4 p.m. at Reno Elementary School, 172 W. Reno Road.

Leading the effort to organize the anniversary celebration is scout Madison Naftal, who took on the event as her Eagle Scout project.

Naftal credited city officials and volunteers she recruited to help prepare activities and paint a new City of Reno mural that will be located inside City Hall.
