Azle teachers’ salaries surpass local market median

For several years, Azle ISD’s superintendent and board of trustees have made raising teachers’ wages a priority.

In 2025, they have not only matched the local market median wage, they have exceeded it.

During a March 17 meeting Azle ISD trustees received a comprehensive update on the district’s compensation plan from Lauren Wurman, a human resources and compensation consultant with the Texas Association of School Boards. Wurman provided an in-depth analysis of the district’s pay maintenance process and its progress over the past four years. Wurman emphasized the importance of maintaining a competitive salary structure to attract and retain top talent.
