The city of Azle declared April Child Abuse Prevention Month during the council meeting April 1. Azle Mayor Alan Brundrett read a proclamation detailing the importance of inter-organizational partnerships and decrying the damage that abuse has on young children. Alliance for Children multidisciplinary team coordinators Emma Dibrell-Forson and Emily Tozer spoke and received the proclamation. Azle police officers Blake Luecke and Marco Gallardo joined the group for a photo.
“This is one of my favorite agencies to ever work with,” Forson said. “Luecke is amazing. I know you’re (Gallardo) just coming up. I guess we appreciate y’all so much (because) we work together very well. Appreciate everything that y’all do, and also the financial support that keeps everything free for all of our children and families that come through.
The proclamation stated 4,719 children were confirmed victims of child abuse or neglect in Tarrant County last year. Alliance for Children provided trauma informed services to 3,025 children in 2024.
