Library recognized by City of Azle

The Azle Memorial Library was given belated recognition by the city of Azle during its April 15 city council meeting. Mayor Alan Brundrett declared April 6-12 National Library Week in the city of Azle. He read from a proclamation and publicly recognized library staff, adding a few of his own words of gratitude.

The proclamation highlighted libraries’ role as a community hub, supporting economic development, education, creativity and citizens’ rights.

Brundrett paused to add personal commentary, reflecting on the role that libraries played in protecting individuals’ rights to privacy and information after the passage of the Patriot Act.
