Softball ladies fall to Aledo, head to playoffs

Try as they might, the Azle Lady Hornets were not able to score any runs against the visiting Aledo Lady Bearcats April 17. The Bearcats brought a tall and strong team in pitching and batting alike and scored five runs in the third inning, including three homeruns, before scoring one in the sixth, and seven runs in the seventh inning The Lady Hornets fielded three pitchers, but they were not effective against the hot Aledo bats.

However, the 13-0 loss to Aledo did not change the standings, and the Lady Hornets are looking forward to the bi-district playoffs coming up April 24-26; opponents, game times and locations are yet to be announced.
