Azle families still managed to have a blast after rain and soggy weather moved the Azle Police Officer’s Association and Azle Professional Firefighters Local 3627 Easter egg hunt indoors.
Originally, the event was intended to take place on the Azle High School football field and feature an egg drop from a helicopter. Wet and windy conditions instead moved it to the AHS indoor practice facility. This was not the only egg hunt to get rained out Saturday. Another Easter egg hunt was moved from The FeedLot to the Azle Senior Center.
More than 10,000 eggs were scattered throughout the facility for some family fun April 19. The APOA organized the event along with help from the fire department and school district. Along with plenty of candy, the organization also gave away door prizes. The APOA hopes to host the event again next year.
