AHS golfer Ethan Bartlett recognized for spectacular season
Azle High School student Ethan Bartlet was recognized at an April 21 school board meeting for his spectacular UIL golf season. Coach Brad Averitte introduced Bartlett to Azle ISD trustees and spoke highly of his achievements this season.
“I wish I can make it in clear terms how awesome this young man is, and just the effort that he put in this spring and the growth there was, but there are no words,” Averitte said. “I’m just very appreciative for his time, his effort, and just the character that he exhibits. As many of you all know, golf is an extremely difficult sport, but it seems easy because the ball is just sitting there in place, and all you got to do is head forward, right? Well, it’s not quite that easy … In my time, Ethan is the second athlete to make regionals, and before then, I think there was one boy golfer in like 2009 and I don’t know if there’s one before that. So, it’s exceptionally hard to get to regionals.”
