Azle Police Department will host a free Citizens Police Academy June 3 through Aug. 5 Tuesday nights from 6-9 p.m. at the Azle Police Department. Attendees will learn about patrol operations, criminal investigations, dispatch, specialized units and volunteer opportunities. Students will have an opportunity to join officers on a ride-a-long and learn about firearm safety. Class size is limited, so applications are needed by May 23 at the Azle Police Department. A background check will be conducted and Azle residents 21 and older are eligible to apply.
