Hospital auxiliaries present honors, recognitions

It takes a village to keep a hospital running — or in Azle’s case, an auxiliary.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle is the first stop for many needing medical care in the Azle area. During an April 22 meeting, members of the hospital’s volunteer auxiliary organization gathered to be recognized for their work and to look back on their accomplishments. Auxiliary President Karen Searfoss introduced speakers and spoke about the accomplishments of the hospital’s volunteer group.

The funds raised through the auxiliary’s efforts, including the Attic Rerun Resale Shop and the Rainbow Inn Gift Shop, have supported major hospital improvements, including a $100,000 remodel of the hospital lobby and registration area, surgical equipment upgrades like drills and autoclaves, a cardiac telemetry system, and patient comfort items like recliners in hospital rooms and lobby chairs for the emergency department.
