For more than 22 years, Alan Brundrett has served the city of Azle, first as a council member and most recently as its mayor. Although those positions may seem like desk jobs, Brundrett is known for rolling up his sleeves and working alongside others.
He spoke recently about the changes in his life that have resulted in his decision not to run for office this year, and his thoughts about his time in service.
Still mourning the death last fall of his wife, Jennifer, from pancreatic cancer, Brundrett said he knows his life and his priorities are changing. The sadness of losing his wife has left him feeling like his heart just isn’t in it anymore.
