During an April school board meeting, coach Logan Scott introduced girls and boys powerlifting students for recognition of their accomplishments during the season.
Speaking on behalf of coach Bo Maines — who could not attend — Scott said 2025 was a historic year for the boys powerlifting team. The team won its home meet for the eighth year in a row and was the back-toback district champion. The Hornets had 12 regional qualifiers and six state qualifiers: D’Lathian Young, Case Moore, Cash Moore, Leavy Owens, Christian DeHoyos and Caden Lawson.
“This group of seniors has been the most consistent group that coach Maines has ever had in powerlifting with him,” Scott said. “They really helped build the program to what it is today.”
