Deron Clark, a 1982 graduate of Azle High School and athletic director at New Mexico Junior College, was presented with the Appreciation Award by National Junior College Athletic Association. Clark received the award during the NJCAA’s 2025 convention in Denton April 13-17.
The award is given strictly at the discretion of the current NJCAA president and CEO to recognize superior contributions to the association. The award can be bestowed to an individual, group or member college.
According to a press release issued by NJCAA, Clark’s impact on New Mexico Junior College and the NJCAA has been unparalleled. His work ethic and passion for athletics has directly led to the success of his institution. He advocates for the prosperity of his student-athletes and coaches, which helps to foster a winning culture that is evident in the results of many programs at NMJC.
