AHS senior earns highest achievement in art for second time

Azle High School senior Harper Herrington has achieved what few young artists in Texas can claim: two consecutive Gold Seal medals. This is the highest honor awarded by the Texas Art Education Association’s Visual Arts Scholastic Event, often equated to a state championship.

Each year, tens of thousands of student artists across Texas submit work to VASE where they are judged on their skill, originality and creativity. Out of 32,000 entries statewide this year, only 164 artworks received Gold Seal recognition.
