Travelers on Highway 199 got a taste of the future last month as portions of the long-awaited new Lake Worth Bridge were opened to traffic. The contractor for the bridge project switched westbound traffic Thursday, May 8. While the project is not completed, it is expected to see a full opening sometime in 2026.
