An alleged fugitive who had been on the run since 2022 was arrested by the Lakeside Police Department over the weekend. During a midnight traffic stop in the 12000 block of westbound State Highway 199, officers discovered a man who had been wanted for the last three years. The subject was wanted by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles and the Wise County Sheriff’s Office for felony offenses.

The man was found in possession of a firearm and 7.3 grams of methamphetamine and 0.5 grams of an unknown substance. The driver was placed under arrest and charged with failure to display a driver’s license, failure to identify fugitive with intent to give false information, possession of between four and 200 grams of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 — a second-degree felony — and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
