Council honors CASA, city secretary, silver jubilees

Last Tuesday’s Azle City Council meeting was a time of recognition for many of the employees who keep things running. Individuals from across departments were recognized for awards, achievements and milestones.

FAMILY UNIFICATION MONTH Azle’s utility billing manager Amber Watson is a court appointed special advocate and is involved with the Tarrant County CASA nonprofit. She was recognized by Azle Mayor Randa Goode with a proclamation declaring National Family Unification Month in the city. This month recognizes the importance of family preservation and efforts to safely reunite children in foster care with their families. CASA of Tarrant County and the Youth Professional Council were acknowledged for their advocacy on behalf of children who have experienced abuse and neglect. The proclamation called on the community to raise awareness about the challenges of family separation in the child welfare system and the need for supportive services that promote safe reunification.
