Australia, Indonesia, Madagascar and South America — animals from all these far-flung corners of the globe recently gathered in Azle.
Creature Teacher provides exotic animal experiences and science education to kids all over the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and last Tuesday they visited the Azle Memorial Library to introduce some of their eyecatching critters. Children’s Services Librarian Ava Bryant organized the event as part of the suite of ongoing Summer Reading Program festivities. While the AML has held animal shows in the past, this was Creature Teacher’s first Azle appearance. The animals picked out by Creature Teacher had no trouble fitting into this summer’s theme: “Reading Colors Our World.”
“I’ve seen their show in the past and I knew that they always have really interesting animals and they do a really great job,” Bryant said. “So, I’m so glad that that they’re here. It’s just so engaging and, the kids, they learn so much … The animals they brought today are animals that are colorful. They brought a chameleon and a toucan. So, I think that’s fun, and that’s interesting for the kids as well.”
