Azle fire chief’s door always open

Lily Hudman is a journalism student at Azle High School who is working as a summer intern at The Azle News and Springtown Epigraph.

For 28 years, Azle Fire Chief Will Scott has served the city of Azle. Arriving here when the fire department was barely operational, he has made significant contributions over the years to help make the department as advanced as possible.

The fire department, police department and city administration were all in one building when Scott got here. The fire department had three paid personnel per shift plus volunteers and now has eight paid personnel per shift with no volunteers.
