For nearly 20 years, the Azle Café has been the home of “good food, good coffee and great people.” Today, patrons fear they may lose their treasured meeting place after the restaurant announced it may relocate in the not-sodistant future.

Sabrina Pyle has leased the building and owned the business since 2013. In the last few months, she learned that the building’s owner plans to sell the whole strip center across from Azle High School. Along with Azle Café, the neighboring parking lot, Donut Palace and Hollywood Hounds are included in the 0.82-acre lot. The property is currently listed with a sale price of $995,000. Pyle worked for the location’s owner, Beverly Moore, back when she first opened Azle Café in 2006. She has since taken over the business with a handshake and has never looked back.

“In 2013 (Moore) lost her dad, and just kind of lost interest and she said, ‘I know how you feel about the regulars and about the cafe, and if you don’t take it, I’m closing the doors,’ (and) that pretty much suckered me,” Pyle said. “I already had years of blood, sweat and tears in it, but now I’m invested even more. It’s not something I just want to see go away after 20 years.”
