Azle ISD Police Sgt. Steve Holland recognized for stopping a suicide on the North Stewart Street bridge
Azle Independent School District Police Department Sgt. Steve Holland did not wake up with acts of heroism in mind on a fateful day in April, but he found himself in the right place at the right time to save a life.
Holland was recognized with a Life Saving Award by Azle ISD Police Chief Darren Brockway during a June 16 meeting of the district’s board of trustees. At the start of the meeting, Brockway recounted the incidents of April 3 that resulted in Holland saving the life of a woman on the North Stewart Street bridge.
