Azle competes in Division I bracket against top Texas teams in College Station

The Azle Hornets faced off against some of the toughest competition in Texas June 26-28 during the 2025 Texas 7-on-7 State Football Tournament at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex.

Competing in Division I — the tournament’s top tier made up of 5A, 6A and TAPPS Division I programs — the Hornets opened pool play Friday with a 33-13 loss to a fast-paced Amarillo Palo Duro team. Azle continued pool play with a 39-14 defeat against Round Rock Westwood before falling to eventual Division I champion The Woodlands.
