Celebrating Independence Day each July 4 is a treasured American tradition that often includes fireworks. However, inside the limits of the city of Azle — and most other cities — fireworks are strictly prohibited (Article 5.06 of the Code of Ordinances).
In a social media post, city officials emphasize that officers with both Azle Police Department and Azle Fire Marshal’s office will be patrolling streets and neighborhoods while keeping an eye out for violations.
There are better, safer options than setting off fireworks within the city, and one of the very best is right in the heart of Azle: Follow the Flag, a Christian, patriotic celebration of Independence Day in Azle’s Central Park, 263 W. Main St., from 7-10 p.m. The event, presented by the Azle Area Ministerial Alliance every year on July 4, features FREE food, fun and fireworks in a family atmosphere that includes live Christian entertainment.
