Individuals living on W.N. Woody Road may need to take a nearly 7-mile detour to get home
W.N. Woody Road in Briar is closed to all westbound traffic after construction began Monday, June 23.
The work is part of a Parker County transportation bond project and will consist of the reconstruction of 1 mile of the existing rural two-lane asphalt roadway to Farm-to-Market Road 730. New culverts, pavement markings, guardrails and signage are also slated for construction. Individuals living on W.N. Woody Road may need to take a nearly 7-mile detour to get home. Those trying to get in the area of construction need to travel north on FM 730 N. past W.N. Woody Road and instead turn left on County Road 4765. According to Parker County Precinct 1 Commissioner George Conley, construction could last between three and six months. The estimated cost of this project is $1.7 million.
