Roadwork begins on N. Stewart Street

Roadwork began on N.

Stewart Street Monday, June 23 as Tarrant County road crews began work milling up old asphalt to overlay it anew. The project is the result of an interlocal agreement made last June between Tarrant County and the city of Azle.

The project will cover 84,000 square feet or about half a mile in a straight line. The first phase of construction will reduce N. Stewart to two lanes with two-way traffic. As work moves from Shady Lane to James Street, traffic will be one-way only with flaggers onsite to keep things moving safely. Crews will also be in Sportsman Park working on channels and prepping JB Smith Street, Dennis Drive and Dwight Drive for overlay.
