City talks wage hike
Heads of various city of Azle departments look on as Azle City Manager Tom Muir describes possible ways to come up with more cash at a June 17 meeting workshop. ZACH FREEMAN | THE AZLE NEWS

Many employees of the city of Azle could see a pay raise in their future.

During a June 17 budget workshop, Azle City Manager Tom Muir discussed a new proposed pay plan for city workers and administrators.

Employee pay is based on a salary range model from $36,292 to $250,497 based on position, years with the city and other factors. When the pay range is laid out in a table with columns and rows, Muir said employees would be slotted into a new step on their pay grade closest to their current rate without a decrease.
