Get ready for waves of laughter! The Azle Arts Association will feature its annual melodrama this weekend at Popcorn Players Theater. It only comes once a year and it’s not Christmas in July — this interactive show encourages audiences to jeer the villains, cheer for the heroes and load up on fistfuls of popcorn for throwing.
Longtime Popcorn Player Ron Counts will direct “Peril on the High Seas.”
Written by Billy St. John, this production has not graced the stage of Popcorn Players Theater in more than eight years. Counts, cast and crew have been hard at work building the set and rehearsing their lines to bring nautical nonsense to Azle audiences.
