First responders blocked off a portion of State Highway 199 around midnight July 6 after an individual became unconscious while sitting on a bridge overlooking Farm-to-Market 730 South. An unidentified minor was transported from Azle to the John Peter Smith Hospital Emergency Department in Fort Worth late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Azle Police Chief Ben Hall said fire units happened to be nearby and were able to secure the scene until police arrived. According to a dispatch call sheet, the individual was spotted sitting on the edge of the bridge and may have “taken something” before passing out. The medical status of the individual is currently unknown and may not be publicly available due to the individual’s age and HIPAA laws.
