Azle grad brings 25 years of coaching experience to Hornets program
The Azle Hornets football program is welcoming back a familiar face for the 2025 season, as Azle High School alumnus Matt Walter joins the coaching staff.
A 1996 graduate of AHS, Walter brings a wealth of experience to the Hornets sideline, entering his 26th year in the coaching profession. His career includes 24 years at the collegiate level and one at the high school level. His previous coaching stops include Louisiana Tech, Southeastern Louisiana University, New Mexico State, Emporia State, Northwestern Oklahoma State, East Central University and Watonga High School.
