Veteran coach brings championship pedigree and leadership to Hornets sideline
As football season approaches, Azle High School welcomes a new face to its coaching staff. Jason Wheeler, a seasoned coach with more than two decades of experience, has joined the Hornets as co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach. In addition, he will serve as the head coach for the boys powerlifting team.
Wheeler arrives in Azle after a seven-year stint at Brewer High School, where he served as head football coach for the past three years. Prior to that, he spent eight years at DeSoto High School, contributing to two state semifinal appearances and a 2016 state championship as the defensive ends and outside linebackers coach.
