Posey releases historical romantic fiction novel
It all started with a dream. Azle resident Dr. Dean Posey had no plans to publish a new book but at the start of 2024 he’d be pushed into unexpected territory. “Almost every night I have a dream about something,” Posey said. “I normally don’t remember it. But in that January, I started having the same dream every night for weeks, and I thought, I’ve got to get this out of my head … I finished typing; it took a couple of days. I didn’t realize at the time that was chapter one. And then as soon as I finished typing it, the next night, I had a dream that was a sequel to the first dream.”
Each night brought a new chapter. By October, the dreams suddenly ended and that’s when Posey knew the book was done. With editing from his daughter, he polished the manuscript and initially self-published it through Amazon in May. Though he never imagined himself writing romantic fiction, the result was well received. Posey said family and friends from church and around town have read the book and offered lots of positive feedback. What started as a gift for his wife turned into a fully-fledged 500-page novel. “The Candlemaker” arrived in local bookstores like The Reading Rabbit last week.
