Azle Fire Marshal Melvin Wilson saved a life last Friday.

Drivers on the State Highway 199 overpass above Denver Trail reported a man standing on the edge of the bridge around 3:40 p.m. July 25. Nervous motorists, worried the man would jump and fall on to Denver Trail nearly 20 feet below, called 911.

Wilson was the first to arrive on the scene to intervene in the man’s potential suicide attempt.
