Dear Azle News Editor,
I want to express my appreciation for the return of our local newspaper. It’s refreshing to once again have a platform that connects our community and shares what’s happening in and around Azle. I especially enjoy seeing photos of local events and people.
However, I was extremely disheartened by the recent photo and caption of a deer described as “a-doe-rable.” While the intent may have been lighthearted, the reality for many of us is far less charming. Deer have become a serious and growing problem in our area and framing them as harmless or endearing ignores the real concerns many residents face daily. Candidly, seeing this issue treated in such a one-dimensional way left me feeling dismissed as a reader and resident, to the point of reconsidering my subscription.
