Azle ISD assistant superintendent set to retire next month

It is the end of an era: Assistant Superintendent of Finance Matt Adams will retire from his full-time position at Azle Independent School District at the end of August.

Adams has served in this role since 2019 after leaving a superintendent position at Peaster ISD. He began his career teaching technology and finance while coaching a wide variety of sports, eventually being promoted to administrative roles. During his 32 years in education, Adams has been a secondary school principal, high school princi- pal and athletic director. He was Peaster’s highest executive for a decade before leaving for Azle.
