McClain signs with Tarleton State

Azle’s all-time kill leader to play Division I volleyball

Azle High School senior Jacqui McClain, one of the most dominant players in the school’s volleyball program history, has officially signed to continue her sports career at the Division I level with Tarleton State University.

McClain, a four-year varsity starter, etched her name in the record books last season when she recorded 554 kills as a junior — the most in a single season in Azle volleyball history. She surpassed the previous mark held by Meagan Ledbetter, a former Lady Hornet standout who went on to play at Weatherford College and on the beach volleyball team at Stephen F. Austin.
