Azle baseball earns state and national recognition

Hornets honored for coaching, player performance and academic excellence

The summer has brought plenty of good news for Azle High School baseball.

Head coach Stephen Smith was named the Class 5A Region 3 Coach of the Year by the Texas High School Coaches Association. Smith, who is preparing for his 11th season leading the Hornets, has been a consistent presence in the dugout and continues to guide the program to success on and off the field.
