Azle’s large deer population remains a continuing source of controversy for the community. The Azle News featured a front-page photo of deer in Pelican Bay with the headline “A-doe-rable” in the July 23 newspaper. Some readers felt the photo constituted a “one-sided portrayal” on the topic of suburban deer. In the weeks that followed, The Azle News received two letters to the editor from area residents discussing the problems associated with local deer populations.
